About Me

Thank you for stopping by! My name is Grace, and I'm a photographer located in the small town of Memphis, Michigan.
Amazing Grace Photography started when I was 15 years old. I had always loved taking pictures at high school sporting events, and I enjoyed entering my photographs in the local county fair. I never thought I would turn my passion into a business, especially while navigating my first year of high school. I learned my camera quickly. In my first year of business, I worked to convince people to trust me with their time and photos since I was very young. The easiest people to convince was my family. In 2016, my grandparents were my first clients and inspired the name of the business. My Grandpa would sing Amazing Grace to me as a child, and what better way to honor him than to name my photography business after that? My family made me feel like I could accomplish my goal for Amazing Grace Photography: provide people with photographs that inspire them to share their moments, and help them relive their emotions in the rawest way.

In the same year my grandparents bought my first photographs, my sister graduated high school. A close family friend was graduating with my sister, and hired me to take his pictures. From there, I took my sister's pictures, and her friends from school hired me to do their pictures soon after. In 2017 at just 16 years old, I was hired for my first backyard wedding. Since then, I have fallen in love with picture taking, and have grown in confidence in my work. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish my success without the support of my family, friends, and community.

One thing I love about working with people in this way is that I get to be a part of their life achievements. I'm able to see the bride before her walk down the aisle, capture her anxiousness, and develop a story through the photographs. I'm able to joke about high school with seniors and capture their laughs as I'm doing it. I didn't start Amazing Grace Photography to just make a living, and I don't see my job as just "work." I love taking pictures. When I'm able to share that love and passion with my clients, it brings me a lot of joy. I am learning more about photography day after day as I am minoring in photography at Northern Michigan University. I get excited to try new techniques and styles I learn about with my clients!
